A goblin shark, a rare species of prehistoric shark nicknamed "the alien abyss", was caught off Australia and delivered to a Sydney museum Tuesday showed the strange animal. He had been caught by a fisherman in January near Eden, off the southeast coast of Australia, about 200 meters deep. His body, in excellent condition, was delivered to the museum after passing through an aquarium.

Living in deep water shark goblin has a flat nose, a pink and flabby body, and teeth-shaped nail. It measures three to four meters in length at maturity. "It's pretty impressive. It is not ugly, it is beautiful, "says the head of the fish collections of the Australian Museum, Mark McGrouther. "It is unusual to catch one and it is also unusual to see this animal enough," he says, adding that it was only the fourth goblin shark museum.
